The Meckes family came down to Lake Okeechobee to catch some big Lake Okeechobee bass. Let’s just say they are flying home now with some great stories and pictures as proof for what Lake Okeechobee is really all about. On the first day we found success catching fish on shiners early in the morning and then slowing down so I took this father and son duo up in the shallows to throw some artificial baits. It didn’t take long before we landed several fish in the first few minutes. We ended the first day catching lots of fish on both shiners and artificial.

The second day of the trip was one this family will remember forever as Capt. Bobby Adams put these guys on some giant Lake Okeechobee bass. Day two proved that fish do bite in the rain and wind as two 9 lb fish hit the boat in the morning and several other good quality fish up to 6 lbs fell prey to a golden wild shiner. It was a blast for both myself and Bobby to have this father and son duo on board with us, looking forward to getting these guys back down here next year. Check out the pictures below.
