Lake Okeechobee is home to one of the best local tournament trails in the world and is hosted by Oakview Baptist Church. The Christian Team Trail is one tournament trail that all the locals fish and has proved to provide anglers not only some great fellowship but also some great fishing competition.

“This is the start of the 9th season for Oakview to operate the CTT. It is our goal to keep this a premier tournament on the lake- with a fantastic ending with our annual Bill Conway Christian Team Trail Classic. This event is well-worth qualifying to participate. We set out to make the “BCCTTC” a fun & memorable day on the lake. The classic has improved annually, just as the CTT has succeeded in doing, since our first season in 04-05. Please ask those who have qualified in the past for their opinion of our classic. You will have to choose between tournaments several times during the course of our season, please keep this say in mind when choosing…we hope your choice will always be to fish the Christian Team Trail, above all tournaments. Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. Classic qualifications will be 5 of 7 tournaments.” (Provided by Oak View Baptist Church)

Safe water Level “Minimum lake level to start the tournament is 12′. If at any time during the tournament season the water level drops below 12′ the tournament’s will be suspended until the water level has moved back above 12′ minimum. If, due to low water level, the tournaments are suspended, the directors will announce the revised qualification for the classic.” (Provided by Oak View Baptist Church)

I can personally tell you that everything about this organization is done with respect and integrity. The tournament is run by a GREAT group of people that donate countless hours of there time in order to provide a great experience for anglers as well as unmatched fellowship. Don’t let this fool you as a easy tournament to win every tournament brings out the best anglers from around the state of Florida, with there eyes set on winning. Most tournaments range between 40 boats on the low end to 60+ on the high end. I believe that last year around 50 boats qualified for the classic, which is just awesome.

Each fisherman gets a free raffle ticket at each tournament where some great prizes are donated by local businesses and after each weigh-in prizes are given out. As well as every person that qualifies and fishes the classic gets rewarded with awesome end of the year prizes, EVERY PERSON WINS and we are talking about some great prizes including; Shimano Reels, Lew’s Reels, and other awesome prizes.

Come check out the first tournament of the year on September 1, whether it be to fish or watch a fun filled exciting weigh-in. The weigh-in station tends to open about 15 minutes before the 1:00pm weigh-in time. Come out and support a great organization with amazing people and unmatched fellowship. Attending the weigh-in is free and is a great time to bring the kids out to see some big fish.
