Yes even guide’s like myself still have bucket list places to fish and one of mine has always been KY Lake for the summer ledge bite. It was a great trip, however, when the temperature drops 30 degrees overnight and the wind blows 30 mph it makes fishing a little tough.

It was 3 (1/2) days of fishing and 2,000 miles in the truck pulling the boat (we made a lake change one day to Dale Hollow Lake) but catching a 4+ lb smallie on Dale Hollow Lake and a 5+ lb largemouth on KY Lake made it worth while.

I will be making the journey again and will be looking forward to it. I love Lake Okeechobee, however, a change of pace is always nice. Check out a few pictures from my trip below. It was good to be gone but it’s even better to be home fishing on Lake Okeechobee.
